History Of World Plumbing Day

World Plumbing Day takes place on March 11th each year, and the establishment of this day started in 2010 by the World Plumbing Council. Plumbing has been around for thousands of years as the Roman Empire developed aqueduct systems for carrying water into different cities and towns. Water was brought into public baths, city latrines, and the homes of those who had money. However, back then, plumbing was not so sophisticated as it is now as there were no coolers, heaters, and pressurized systems. However, the acknowledgment began for several reasons. There are still many nations that lack sanitary drinking water, and at the same time, plumbers around the world are often not appreciated. Those are the reasons behind the establishment of World Plumbing Day.

How To Acknowledge World Plumbing Day

Not only does it help to educate yourself on how proper plumbing keeps you clean and healthy, however, take the time to learn about how there are other nations that lack the best plumbing to keep them healthy. You can always donate to organizations such as Who Gives A Crap. They sell toilet paper that is recycled and half of their profits support building toilets in impoverished areas. However you acknowledge the day, why not sure it by adding #WorldPlumbingDay to your social media post.
