National Sunglasses Day

When the day is sunny, you need a good set of shades to keep your eyes protected, and at the same time, your sunglasses simply look so cool. However, that is not the only reason you want to wear your shades, as you will learn why on National Sunglasses Day.

June 27th is the day to wear your shades on National Sunglasses Day. There are so many reasons that you love your sunglasses. For one, they make you look cool and attractive. If you take a selfie and wear your sunglasses, you will find that it will make you look quite cool, and you will want to share it. Additionally, if you have bags under your eyes, then you can conceal them by wearing a cool pair of shades that you will love.

In addition to that, and more importantly, a good pair of shades will keep your vision protected from the UV rays that come from the sun. Those UV rays can significantly destroy your vision the same way they can ruin your skin which can cause it to age prematurely. The sunglasses will cause the UV rays to bounce back to the sun, and that right there keeps your eyes protected. The same applies if you are skiing.

The UV rays from the sun bounce on you from a snowy landscape, so you need to wear sunglasses when you perform winter sports such as skiing and snowboarding. There really are so many reasons to celebrate your shades!

The History Of National Sunglasses Day

Sunglasses have been around since the 12th century when the Chinese created them by using smoky quartz flat planes. And then, in 1752, James Aysough did experiments by using tinted lenses in spectacles which is when the sunglasses were established in their technicality. However, they did not become popular until the 1900s, and the ones who began wearing them as early as the 1940s were Hollywood personalities. Then that is how it turned into a fashion statement during the second part of the 20th century. It is not known otherwise how the dates for the national day were established.
