Your followers and others worldwide can see who you are, thanks to the era of social media and modern technology. That is the time when the selfie emerged. You can take pictures of yourself in creative ways, and there is a day to celebrate that which is on National Selfie Day.
June 21st urges you to take selfies as it is National Selfie Day. That gives you a chance to show who you are and to express yourself. However, there are some people who don’t like taking selfies for various reasons so they may not be the ones to engage in this day. The most they would do is find a cartoon of themselves and use that instead. Why would some people opt to not take selfies? Maybe they are self-conscious about their appearances, or maybe they are private, or maybe they find selfies to become tone-deaf and superficial. However, there are plenty of people who like showing off who they are by taking selfies.
You can take selfies with your smartphone by literally taking a picture of yourself by positioning yourself well, and you may do doing an activity as you do that. Perhaps you are eating, reading, or holding a pet or a child. You may use selfie sticks which is something that a lot of people do as well. However, over the last decade, selfies have become very popular and it is a great way for others who follow you on social media to get to know you by seeing you.
History Of National Selfie Day
Selfies have been around since people have had the ability to take pictures of themselves and to post them online. Therefore, technically, they have been around since the 1990s when the internet was born. However, the term was not used until the latter 2000s decade once social media became a thing. Selfies became hot after Instagram became popular in 2011, and the term ‘selfie’ was one of the most popular ones in 2013. Then on June 21st, 2014, DJ Rick McNeely from Fishbowl Radio Network in Arlington TX established the day so everyone can celebrate their selfies online and it is now a national holiday.
How To Celebrate National Selfie Day
