May 31st urges you to enjoy some macaroons as it is National Macaroon Day. Macaroons are easy to make and are so incredibly delicious. You only need several ingredients to make this amazing cookie which consists of coconuts (obviously) and make sure that you shred it up. You also need sweetened condensed milk, sugar, flour, and egg whites. You will need to use anything that creates flavoring, such as vanilla extract or cocoa. All you need to do is combine those ingredients and then once they are completely blended, take a spoon and place drops of the batter onto a cookie sheet covered with aluminum foil.
Many flavors of macaroons are dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate, vanilla, and you can also add different nuts such as pieces of almonds, cashews, pecans, and more. The cookies are simple to make, as even beginners can make excellent macaroons. If you don’t like coconut, you can find recipes online for coconut-free macaroons, and they can be just as delicious. If you are hosting a get-together, you can make macaroons with coconut and others without it. That is in case your guests don’t like coconut. Not only are these cookies so easy to make, but they are fun too!
The History Of National Macaroon Day
Macaroons came into existence in Italy’s 8th or 9th century, and then not long after that, France adopted this coconut cookie. In the very early days, there was no flour made in this cookie which is why macaroons began being a part of many religious observances such as on Passover for those who practice the Jewish faith. It was several centuries ago when macaroons made their way to North America after their establishment in Europe. It is not known as to when that happened and it is also not known as to why this particular day is National Macaroon Day, but someone who loves macaroons must have established a day for it.
