National Eyewear Day

Do you wear glasses? If not, chances are you wear sunglasses from time to time. There is a large percentage of people who need eyewear for various reasons, primarily due to poor vision. However, there should be a day to commemorate all eyewear, which is National Eyewear Day.

June 6th is the day to celebrate your glasses or sunglasses as it is National Eyewear Day. At one time, it seemed like a stigma of some sort if you needed to wear glasses. Kids in school that needed glasses would often face bullying as they were often called “nerds” or other not-so-nice names. That is why so many kids that needed glasses did not appreciate having them.

However, over time, spectacles have changed, as well as the attitudes around them. Now, it can be stylish to wear glasses. There are so many different styles of glasses to choose from that you never have to be embarrassed or ashamed to begin wearing prescribed eyewear. Kids will even feel the same way. If they need glasses, they can choose the frame they want, and they can find many fashionable frames to wear.

However, sunglasses have always been ‘cool,’ and no one ever thought twice about being shameful to wear them. Celebrities always wore sunglasses, and that began since celebrities started to become popular. That is why sunglasses were not the same as wearing prescribed glasses. However, both now are on the same wavelength when it comes to being in style.

The History Of National Eyewear Day

The invention of spectacles happened in 1452, and that was because many people struggled to read. Since that time, there was an increase in literacy, and eyewear became more in demand. However, Zyloware Eyewear has been around since 1923 and established National Eyewear Day in 2016. The purpose for that was to celebrate not only the best-quality eyewear but to celebrate its styles. That day is also there to help kids, in particular, accept their eyewear and for those worldwide who need glasses to celebrate having them. There will always be new styles coming out over time, which is to be expected.
