National Color TV Day

When you are watching your TV, there is a good chance you are watching a modern plasma TV with a widescreen with sharp color. It is also hard to imagine that just a few decades ago, TVs were nothing more than boxes with drab color. But you want to appreciate them as it is National Color TV Day.

June 25th is the day to celebrate the fact that you can enjoy your color TV and have an appreciation for it since it is National Color TV Day. You do know that TVs were in black and white and were very small, so small that families in the 1950s had to gather around in their family rooms or living rooms to watch it together. You can say that TV has come so far since then. However, back in the day when there were only black and white TVs, the entertainment was great but it was also very monotonous as that did take away the joy from it.

However, you also cannot imagine even a color TV that is in a box which was standard in the last quarter of the 20th century and in the first decade of the 2000s. In the later 2000s is when plasma and high definition TVs were coming out. However, they were expensive like any new technological advancement is in the beginning. However, these high-definition TVs or plasma TVs are not too expensive anymore since the technology is standard nowadays. You do want to take in the colors from your modern TVs and appreciate them.

The History Of National Color TV Day

No one knows the story behind the establishment of National Color TV Day. However, it is a day to celebrate one of the best entertainment devices of all time. TVs have been around since the late 1800s but they were uncommon and they went hand in hand with electricity being so basic. In 1935, broadcasts were telecast and the picture was only black and white. However, in the 1950s is when TV became popular. Color TV did not become a thing until 1965, and that was an exciting time for people who were looking forward to seeing their favorite shows in color instead of in boring black and white!
