Do you like gardening? Who doesn’t enjoy it? Gardening is a relaxing thing to do, yet at the same time, you can get a workout as you dig up the soil and plant some seeds. How about gardening in your birthday suit? Does that sound odd? It shouldn’t be, which is why there is Naked Gardening Day.
May 1st urges you to take off your clothes and plant some seeds, whether they are seeds for flowers, plants, or fruits or vegetables, as that is Naked Gardening Day. The purpose is to get exposed all the way around with nature as May is a sensual and fertile month. The benefit of this day is to tie others to the natural world, it also allows people to become honest with who they are, and this is an activity that is fun and freeing. There are a few things to not do on Naked Gardening Day as if you do not live in a fenced-in yard, or if you are gardening from your apartment or condo balcony, that is not a good idea to do that. You don’t want to do this in public.
In addition to that, you do not want to do gardening in your birthday suit if you plant cacti or roses, use power tools, and being in contact with poison ivy. Other than that, have some fun with it, and explore who you are, and get in touch with nature all the way. Don’t forget to slather on some sunblock too. Once you are finished gardening while wearing your birthday suit, you will feel refreshed and invigorated.
The History Of Naked Gardening Day
The consulting editor, Mark Storey for Nude & Natural Magazine, and the permaculturist Jacob Gabriel teamed together and established Naked Gardening Day. That was part of the Body Freedom Collaborative project. The American Association for Nude Recreation and Naturist Society endorsed Naked Gardening Day. The first celebration happened on September 10th, 2005. However, they decided to move it to the first Saturday of May in 2007. This year, it happens to fall on May 1st. The purpose is to feel comfortable in your own skin, have some fun while gardening, and really get in touch with nature so you can enjoy every aspect of it.
How To Celebrate Naked Gardening Day
Celebrating the day is obvious, as long as you live in a private fenced-in yard. If you don’t, then do some gardening by wearing a tank top and shorts which is the next best thing (as long as the weather permits). If the weather does not permit, then learn about what the day means. You don’t want to take selfies if you are actually gardening in your birthday suit. However, you can definitely talk about it on social media by using #NakedGardeningDay in the post.
