If you grew up in the 1980s and 1990s, you would remember Luigi and his twin brother, Mario, if you were into playing video games. If that is the case, you would probably be getting a chance of nostalgia right now. And you will want to hang onto those fond memories of playing Mario video games on Mario Day!
March 10th is the day to play one of your Nintendo favorite, a Mario game! That is because it is Mario Day! If you did not even play video games much during your youth, you could still enjoy celebrating Mario. Why not learn about Mario by looking up facts about him so you can brush up on that trivia.
Whether you played the Mario games or not, you may remember that the Super Mario games have associations with the Mushroom Kingdom. Mario had company during those games, which were his brother Luigi. Other members of Mario’s world also jumped in occasionally. All Mario would do run and jump across different platforms escaping his enemies. And Mario’s goal was always to rescue Princess Peach, which Mario’s archenemy, Bowser, always kidnapped.
Don’t forget too how Super Mario was also associated with the Mario greater franchise involving film, printed media, TV, Mario-related merchandise, and even video games in various genres. Did you also know that over 330 million Super Mario video game copies sold everywhere in the world? That meant that Super Mario was the fourth bestselling series of video games. It is not a surprise that Mario takes a special place in people’s hearts!
History Of Mario Day
When you write out Mar. 10, it looks like Mario, and that is how the day began thanks to Mario fans’ creativity, and in 2016, Nintendo endorsed that March 10th is Mario Day. However, before that, Mario was a character introduced in Donkey Kong, a Nintendo game in the early 1980s. Mario was a jumper and a carpenter. However, in 1983, Mario had his own version of the game known as Super Mario Brothers, and he went from carpenter to plumber. Over time, Mario took over everything having to do with Nintendo, and the more that happened, the more fans emerged.
