Dump The Pump Day

The environment is fragile and you can help save it by doing your part by taking the transit to get from point A to point B, and you can also save money by not getting fuel for some time by doing that too. You definitely do want to do that on Dump The Pump Day.

Juen 17th, or the third Thursday in June is the day to save money and to save the environment at the same time as it is Dump The Pump Day. That is the day that urges you to use public transportation instead of your car which you can keep parked in your driveway, garage, or condominium or apartment parking lot. The truth is, aside from the environment is fragile, money is tight for many people as fuel costs are expensive. Therefore, the best way to save is by taking public transportation, and it is true that makes it harder to do when you live in low-populated suburban or rural areas.

However, if you live in a downtown area or in a largely-populated suburban area, you can keep your car aside and take public transportation whether you take it for work, grocery shopping, school, or so on. You can use it to run other errands and to visit your friends and family. Other benefits are the reduction of your commute time and you do not have to deal with the stress of driving, especially when it comes to rush-hour traffic. Long commutes are a contributor to long-term stress which can cause other health problems.

The History Of Dump The Pump Day

The fact that the environment is fragile and has been for a long time and a contributor to its fragility are emissions from fuels, and that fuel is expensive, there is a lot of encouragement for the public to take public transit. The American Transportation Association or the APTA wanted to designate a day to encourage everyone across America and it has bled over to other countries to take the transit on the third Thursday of June. That is a way to save money and to help the environment, and in the long term, it can help save your health too!

How To Acknowledge Dump The Pump Day

That is simple as you will want to take public transit for that day and leave your car in the driveway or the garage. You will also want to encourage others to do that too, as you can state the reasons people should do that on social media by using #DumpThePumpDay in the post.
