When you think of an arborist, you probably don’t consider the risks they take doing the job. However, they are needed so they can maintain trees and forests because unmanaged trees can pose so many other dangers to everyone. That is why you want to thank those who do the job on Arborist Appreciation Day.
June 16th is the day to show appreciation for those who put their lives on the line by maintaining trees and forests as it is Arborist Appreciation Day. The job is quite dangerous as those who take care of these trees are constantly putting their lives on the line so they can keep you safe. You probably think very little of it when you walk by a wooded area and see people working on the trees and forests by cutting them down each time they are threatening risk to the population. However, you don’t want to just walk by them today as you want to thank them for the risky and dangerous job they do by keeping you safe.
You will see arborists working not only in forests but in parks and in other wooded areas where you see plenty of trees. The reason that you have not had to experience a tree falling on you while walking under one, especially after it has been destroyed by lightning or it falling because of disease is that the arborists are the ones who take care of it before that happens. They are the reason you can enjoy going to wooded parks without worrying about anything.
The History Of Arborist Appreciation Day
There is no known origin behind Arborist Appreciation Day, however, it would not be surprising if an arborist did not feel appreciated for doing the difficult job they do, established this day. However, you will see arborists working on cutting down trees that pose a danger to you after a natural disaster such as a heavy dangerous storm. They work around the clock to ensure that hanging trees do not harm anyone, and many of these arborists do become gravely injured while they do the work for you. Some have even gotten killed on the job, and this is why an appreciation day for those who do this dangerous line of work needs accolades and appreciation.
